1. Open Source Principles
Synub Inc. ("Synub") respects contributions to the open source ecosystem and verifies and complies with the license terms of the open source software used to build its Services. Synub fulfills obligations required by each license, such as copyright notices, inclusion of license texts, notices of changes, and provision of source code.
2. Per-License Principles
Open source licenses differ in their requirements. Synub follows these principles:
- Permissive licenses (MIT, BSD, etc.): provide copyright notices together with the full license text. - Apache License 2.0: preserve copyright, patent, trademark, and attribution notices; propagate the contents of the original NOTICE; and state changes in modified files. - File-level copyleft (e.g., MPL): disclose the source location of modified files. - Copyleft (e.g., (L)GPL, AGPL): where such components are included, provide the corresponding source code required by the license.
3. How Notices Are Provided
1. For each service, Synub provides the major libraries used, license names (SPDX identifiers), copyright notices, and links to source/original text. 2. The location of notices depends on the distribution form: - Web services: provided through an open source license notice page. - Installable apps and games: provided through an "Open Source Licenses" screen within the app or a notice file included in the distribution package. 3. Because dependencies vary by version and build, the latest notice provided within each product is the complete list for that distribution.
4. Source Code Availability
Where components under copyleft licenses are distributed, Synub includes the corresponding source code or provides a download path to the extent required by the license.
5. Reporting Missing or Incorrect Notices
If you suspect a missing notice, an incorrect license attribution, or a broken source link, please let us know through the Synub contact channel; we will verify and correct it promptly.
