1. What This Notice Is
Synub apps are free to use and are funded by advertising. To serve ads, an advertising identifier and related data must be sent to an advertising provider, and that provider (Google LLC) is located outside the Republic of Korea.
Under the Personal Information Protection Act, a cross-border transfer that constitutes a third-party provision requires the data subject's separate consent (Art. 28-8(1)1). This notice contains the text shown on the consent screen presented at first launch, and applies to all apps operated by Synub.
The full description of our processing is in the Synub Privacy Policy (Sections 5 and 6).
2. What You Are Consenting To
There is a single consent item. It is optional; you can use the app without consenting.
Consent to the third-party provision and cross-border transfer of personal data for advertising purposes.
- Recipient: Google LLC (contact: as published in the Google Privacy Policy, policies.google.com/privacy) - Country of transfer: the United States and other countries where Google operates data centers - Time and method of transfer: transmitted over the network at app launch and when an ad is requested - Items transferred: advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID (AAID), iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA)), device information (model, operating system, language), approximate location (country or region level), and ad interaction records such as impressions and clicks - Recipient's purpose of use: serving ads, measuring ad performance, and preventing invalid ad traffic - Recipient's retention and use period: as set out in Google's privacy policy
In apps that use game leaderboards and achievements (Google Play Games Services), separate consent for the provision of the Play Games Services account identifier and game progress data is obtained at the point you choose to use that feature.
3. What Happens If You Decline
You can continue to use the app. Use of the Services is not restricted.
- Personalized ads are not served. Non-personalized ads, unrelated to your interests, are served instead. - Ads do not disappear entirely. The minimum advertising needed to keep the app free continues to be shown. - Game leaderboards and achievements are unavailable (in apps that have those features).
4. How to Withdraw Consent
You may withdraw consent at any time. Personalized ads stop from the moment of withdrawal.
- Turn off advertising consent in the app's settings screen - Submit a request through the Synub Privacy Request Center - Contact the privacy officer (haru@synub.io, sky@synub.io)
You may also reset or delete the advertising identifier itself in your device settings.
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads > "Reset advertising ID" or "Delete advertising ID" - iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking > turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
5. Children Under 14
Apps primarily directed at children under 14 do not serve personalized ads and do not request consent for third-party provision of the advertising identifier. Such apps are operated in accordance with the app stores' families and children policies.
6. Additional Regional Procedures
In regions with their own consent requirements, such as the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, an additional consent flow required by local law is presented at first launch.
